Plett Property May 2012

Plett estate agents received accolades at a Sotheby’s International Realty function held at the Knysna Golf Club. Fiona Thorpe won the CEO Award for the highest units sold for the quarter ending Feb 2012. Hein Pretorius, the principal, received the Market Share Award and The Marketer of the Quarter Award. Fiona Thorpe and Carrie Maclean were both runners up in a number of other awards.
Hein Pretorius said: “I am very proud of Fiona Thorpe and all of our agents. Once again they have performed well despite the tough market conditions. They have shown that through dedicated marketing and sound advice to their clients that agents can excel in the current market and achieve their clients’ aspirations."

Eight properties transferred in Natures Valley in 2011, for an average selling price of R2,45million. Only two properties have transferred in 2012 so far, with an average of R2,6million, but more sales should register through the rest of the year. The highest value since January 2011 was for R4million for a home with good sea views in Saint Andrews Avenue. Though there is downward pressure on property prices, the market appears to be stabilising. In comparison to the national property market, Natures Valley fared relatively well during the recent decline. There are currently at least 10 properties for sale in Natures Valley. Asking prices range from R2, 85m to R7, 43m. The highest price to date was R7,605,000 in 2006 for a home on Nemesia Street.
